Allah SWT order in the Holy Quran, that backbiting is like the one who eats the flesh of his dead brother.
But we the human being take a taste of it. In this regard, I am going to narrate a very interesting story, which gives us a guideline to avoid it forever. All these stories are for our benefit and to choose the right path. As we know that when some people gather at any place, after a discussion on whether the topic converts to someone who they don't want or hate him.
Satirically they stain his character and want to blame him without any solid proof. By doing so they get his favors. Not knowing, actually annoying Allah (SWT). It is apparent that when Allah SWT's will isn't with us, how we will succeed?
This became our habit. It gives us pleasure and comfort, I think. I have promised that I will narrate a story. Here it is. Once, Satan was going on away, having close his fist. Someone asked, what is carrying in his hands. Satan replied," I have honey and ashes in my hands." The pious person asked both are quite different from each other, what does it mean. Then Satan said," The honey I put on his lips when starting backbiting as it gives them sweetness and put the ashes on the faces of poor and orphans children that no one extends his grace and love for him."
This is the work which we are indulged in nowadays.
How to avoid it? Simple very simple, first of all, think that we can't ruin his personality and not damage him, but coming down and acting very mean. Why we are doing so? We get nothing at last. What does the other person think about us? A negative impression will create about us. No doubt.
It is for the other person also a great consideration, that this person who is busy in one of our brother's character assassination, what he will do with me?
At the time we must decide that we will not hear this ill, slack, and slum statement.
We must show greatness toward other fellow men and render tenderness. When we encourage sincerity towards other people, it means we developed the essence of humanity for which they are created.
